All modern BYD models, and the new Jaecoo EVs use the universal Type 3 (Mennekes) connector for AC Charging. This is the UK and European standard, and it’s the plug our Hi EV tethered and untethered chargers come with – guaranteeing a perfect, hassle-free fit every time you plug in.
Why is a smart charger so important for my BYD’s Blade Battery?
The Blade Battery (LFP) is second-to-none – but to maximise its legendary lifespan, it loves consistent, managed charging. Can’t I just use the granny cable that comes with the car?

With a standard 7kW home charger from Hi EV, a full charge from 0-100% on a BYD Seal (approx. 83kWh battery) takes roughly 12 hours—perfectly aligned with an overnight charge. In reality, you’ll rarely be charging from empty, so a typical nightly top-up is much quicker.
Do you offer a specific ‘BYD Owner’s’ or ‘Jaecoo Owner’s’ Installation package?
