Can my new EV Charger work with my Solar PV system?
At Hi EV, yes! This is one of our questions pre-installation to ensure your requirements are fully catered for. We are partnered with some of the best EV brands in the industry, and the majority of our EV Charging stations offer compatibility with Solar PV infrastructure.
How quickly can you install?
Once the surveys are passed and everything’s good to go, usually we can install within 2 days. Once our engineers have ensured all bases are covered, and everything’s good to go, you can book your appointment and go from there.
How do I pay for my EV Charger from Hi EV?
We take a small deposit when your appointment is booked, then nothing until we’ve installed and tested your new EV Charger. You have the option to either settle the balance on install day (one payment for charger & installation itself), or you can use one of our payment partners to spread the cost. Whether it’s over 3 months or 2 years, it’s completely up to you!
Checks before installing an EV Charger
Property Ownership/Permission
To have an EV Charger installed in your home, typically you’ll need to own the property. If you don’t own the property, you’ll of course need to ensure permission is in-place from the landlord/owner before proceeding.
WiFi/4G Availability
In order for us to install one of our EV Chargers and ensure it’s working to its full potential, a 4G/5G or WiFi connection will be required. This essentially gives the charger a connection to the cloud, and enables a range of features including energy consumption monitoring, turning your charger off/on etc.
Electrical Capacity
One of the most important factors is making sure your home’s electrical board is up to scratch and can accommodate for a new EV Charger. Most 7kW chargers we install run at 230V and require on/around 40amps at minimum to operate. We can work all of this out from the free remote survey/ video we ask for.
Designated Parking
This isn’t a deal breaker, but having designated parking in some form is helpful when having an EV charger installed. In general, driveways, bays or similar are an ideal setup as so you can charge your vehicle successfully from your new charger without much obstruction.

Book a Survey
Apply with us and book-in for your free survey and quote. We just need you to answer some quick questions in relation to your property.

Survey carried out
Most of the time we can conduct surveys remotely…all we need is a short video from your main electrical box to where you’d like your charger installed. However, if required one of our EV surveyors can attend your property for checks on the ground. Your quote will be provided same-day.

Installation Date Confirmed
Once you’re happy with the details, you can book a slot for installation. Pick a time most convenient for you for one of our qualified engineers to attend and install your shiny new EV Charger.

Installation
Our engineer will arrive on-time and briefed on requirements…we confirm all surveys, so they won’t need to ‘leave and come back’! They’ll run-through the details of how to work your charging station, and the Mobile App.

What do I need for a remote EV Charging Station survey?
We’ll have a few basic questions about where you want your new charger installed, the location of your fuse board and similar. Also, we’ll need a few pictures/video showing the route. It only takes a few minutes, and allows us to quote immediately without having to come out first.
